A Big Five Personality Subdomain of Extraversion. Assertive people find it easy to advocate publicly for their personal and organizational goals. They can come across as leaders if they do it well or overly opinionated or overbearing if they don’t. Unassertive people are less likely to eagerly take the lead on asserting their personal or organizational goals, especially in the presence of more assertive people.
