A neglect cycle is a specific type of relapse cycle. A repeating pattern of distorted thoughts and behaviors used when someone commits a neglectful act. These distorted thought patterns are often nested in a wider pattern of anti-social values that begin the neglect cycle. People that become abusive after being counseled on their neglect have a neglect cycle that feeds into their assault cycle.
