The act of appearing as a caring and loving person in the beginning of a relationship to gain trust is perfidy. A perfidious person is a wolf in sheep’s clothing seeing to gain trust to betray it. After established the relationship the wolf reveals her true predatory self by waging a campaign of abuse and neglect. She dangles the prospect of changing back into a sheep to string her victim along. She often performs codependent sabotage and is likely to commit emotional incest as she is not able to maintain an adult caring and loving relationship.
