Principal-Agent Problem: A specific type of moral hazard when an agent is rewarded for betraying the person or group they are supposed to be acting in support of (the principal). Stockholders may trust a CEO to run a company but he could be corrupt. Likewise a husband may trust a woman as wife and mother. But what if she runs up the debt and sticks him half, getting a divorce discount? Or alienates his children against him?
