Tactics to Avoid Change

« Back to Glossary Index

Tactics to Avoid Change are just as they sound. They are the ways neglectful and abusive women continue to be neglectful and abusive as wives, mothers, and in other relationships. When faced with change people are often resistive for a variety of reasons. They may have anti-social values or expectations that make them hostile to change. They may enjoy the perceived benefits of being neglectful or abusive or they are merely resentful that they are not “good enough”.

It is best to think of Tactics to Avoid Change as a collection of thinking errors working at the same time in neglectful and abusive people who don’t want to be more caring and loving. The exact combination of thinking errors and the intensity they use them can vary from person to person.
